Arthur Saunders served in France with the 1st Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment from 12 September 1914. Transferred to the 4th Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment on 11 July 1916, Saunders was discharged on 6 February 1918 on account of wounds received in action. Awarded the Silver War Badge on 27 February 1918, he returned home to 12 Lila Street, Church Lane, Moston, Manchester; sold with copied MIC and research.
