Francis Andrew Joseph Pollock-Gore was appointed Flight Lieutenant on 14 April 1935 and posted to No. 15 Squadron, Abingdon, on 16 December 1935. He was appointed Squadron Leader on 8 August 1938 and transferred to No. 10 (Bomber) Squadron at Dishforth, Thirsk.
