Queen's South Africa 1899-1902, 1 clasp, Cape Colony (23981 Shg: -Sth: W. S. Stone. 12th Coy. Imp. Yeo.), extremely fine
William Samuel Stone was born at Salcombe, Devon in 1883. Gaining civilian employment as a plasterer, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Carlton Street, London on 26 January 1897, becoming a Farrier and Shoeing Smith in the 12th Company. After serving during the 2nd Boer War he was discharged at Aldershot on 30 August 1902, his conduct described as 'Very Good'; sold with copied discharge papers.
