Approximately 77 Medals were awarded to the unit.
Jagersfontein, a town in the Orange Free State, was attacked by a party of Boers on 16 October 1900. During the attack they succeeded in liberating all the prisoners from the gaol and inflicted two casualties on the small garrison.
