East and West Africa 1887-1900, 1 clasp, Sierra Leone 1898-99 (459 Pte. Tommy Blackie. W.A.R.),

M.I.D. London Gazette 31 May 1916 (Cameroons).

Tommy Blackie remained in the service of the West African Rifles, seeing active service in Ashanti (Medal) and during the Great War (1914-15 Star Trio), likely also in receipt of the L.S. & G.C. He was awarded of one of just eight 'mentions' to the Regiment during the Great War and was likely denied the Imperial Distinguished Conduct Medal - something the War Office was keen withholding from native troops.
