1862 Perforated "Empire" Issue
20c. blue, a quite well centred example of great freshness, used on 5 December 1862 envelope to Paris, very attractively tied by red "star" cancel with accompanying "bau du palais de compiegne" c.d.s in the same colour. Slight toning along perforation of no importance for this item, where the cancellation confers the rarity, and in this case is absolutely exceptional, being clearly visible and harmoniously exhibited.
