20c. black on yellowish, a remarkably fresh example, widely margined all around, vivid shade, used on small entire letter to Aix-en-Provence tied by "Riez/5 Janv. 1849" medium c.d.s. (type 14), showing an additional clear strike at left confirming the application on the fifth day of usage of postage stamps in France, showing arrival on back.
