The first printing of 10,000 was placed on sale on 15 December 1884. for correspondence within the Straits Settlements and the Protected Native States, and could be addressed to Johore.
1899 (26 June) 1c. green card marked "By N.D.L." (Norddeutscher Lloyd) to Natal, South Africa, uprated with 1c green, tied by "tanglin" c.d.s (D2), showing Singapore c.d.s and Durban (13.8) c.d.s on front; underpaid by 1c with tax mark "T" from Tanglin (UP1) and large "1d" in circle from Natal (?). Scarce and fine. Photo
