On the evidence available to him, Hall stated that the "Zanizbar" error only occurred on the 1½a. in the surcharged state and on the 3a. Nobody has been able to add to this since. His source for the 1½a. error was the full pane in Lot 1, R.1/9


3a. brown-orange block of ten (5x2), R.5/3-6/7, all showing small second "z", additionally with the distinctive sans-serif thick "b" in R.6/7 as well as the broken "p" for "n" in R.5/5 and antique "r" in R.5/3, unused with a couple having some gum. S.G. 10B/D/E. £153+. Photo
