Great Britain
Postal History
1824 (20 Jan.) entire letter from London to Dublin, endorsed "Private", showing a superb strike of the large red Crowned circular "improperly put under cover to evade postage/to be/charged", black Dublin arrival timestamp on reverse; vertical filing fold crosses the strike which barely detracts. This is one of the rarest Irish marks, there being only two known examples. Photo
