The RAF Survey Flights
1930 (29 Dec.) bogus Rajah Inspection flight OHHS envelope from Sibu to Kuching, showing despatch c.d.s., "by air mail" label tied by circular "general post office/kuching. sarawak" cachet in violet. Photo

Note: No flight ever took place on this date and the existing covers which were supposed to have been flown were entirely bogus, the result of a successful piece of forgery by a clerk in the Post Office who was subsequently relieved of his post. This enterprising person used to collect old envelopes from friends in the Treasury or Land Office, apply an airmail label and stamp them with the Post Office chop.
