Princess Eugenie Romanovski
1916 autograph letter written from Petrograd by Princess Eugenie Romanovski on her embossed notepaper, with the accompanying censored cover, franked 10k, addressed to London, giving family news. Photo
"Your letter lay ages at the P.O. they forgot apparently to let us have it in time, or maybe it was the censor, you never know in these times.
Petrograd is much as usual but I mustn't get into details though, else the censor will favour my letter with his attention, as the last one. I wonder what did he find objectionable in it?".
Princess Eugenia of Leuchtenberg was born on 1 April 1845 in Saint Petersburg. She was the fourth child and third daughter of Maximilian de Beauharnais, 3rd Duke of Leuchtenberg and his wife Grand Duchess Maria Nikolaevna of Russia.
