Edward Johnson, an allusive figure in history who held a number of public appointments. He was appointed receiver of duties of gold wire (1636) and receiver of archery (1637). His general roles undertaken for the King were those responsible for ensuring standardisation of quality among merchants. For example he was appointed a commissioner for discovering offenders who were buying and selling cards and dice unsealed and in the same year debarred certain goldsmiths from selling gold and silver.

William Juxon (1582-1663), an English Churchman, Bishop of London (1633-1649), and Archbishop of Canterbury (1660 until his death).
