1947 "Lady McLeod" proposed issue enlarged hand-drawn and painted essays by Paul Mansfield, comprising 1c. Carnegie Library, San Fernando in black and green, 2c. Railway Station, Port of Spain in indigo and brown, 3c. Harbour Buildings, Port of Spain in deep green and orange, 5c. "Lady McLeod" stamp in ultramarine and scarlet, and 6c. Map of Trinidad in crimson and blue, each executed on thin card with title and designers name, etc. A unique and handsome quintet. Photo

Note: These designs were proposed by the Trinidad Philatelic Society. A agreement was made with the Government of Trinidad regarding quantity, layout, etc. and these approved designs were forwarded to the Crown Agents and subsequently approved. Unfortunately due to proceedings already in hand for a Mauritius commemorative set, and their wish that Mauritius be given the commemorative issue as the British Colony for which postage stamps were issued, this issue never proceeded past these designs
