1795 (17 July) letter from Admiral Sir George Keith Elphinstone aboard HMS Monarch to Alexander Farquar, Naval Storekeeper at Simonstown. Written by John Jackson, secretary to Elphinstone, directing him to take provisions from Monarch's store to feed Hottentots and slaves arriving at Simonstown during the short campaign which gave control of the Cape Colony to the British on 16 September 1795
