Undated one page, two sided letter written and signed by Rowland Hill, from the Reform Club to J. Shuttleworth regarding "a little private conversation"; 1843 (13 May) envelope from London to Warrington, franked at 1d. and showing, on flap, a small embossed, seal in black (small opening faults) inscribed "rowland hill/free" with a mans head at the centre, and a smaller unused envelope with the same seal printed in grey. A fine and interesting group relating to this famous postal reformer. Photo
