1891 (19 Jan.) presentation card (202x292mm.) headed "proposed scheme for indian adhesive postage stamps" bearing a series of twelve essays and stamps for values between ½a. and 1r., comprising delightful handpainted essays for 2½a., 4a., 6a., 8a. and 1r. values with portions of each highlighted in Chinese white, 1½a. perforated colour trial in grey and, as issued, ½a., 9p., 1a., 2a., 3a. and 12a.; traces of tones around some of the issued stamps and top of card severed from the stamps. A very rare and colourful assembly, being one of the very few examples of this Scheme believed to exist. Photo
