(x) Kangaroo Issues
First Watermark
1d. red, Die I, a spectacular lower right corner block of eighteen (6x3) with "JBC" monogram showing double perforations in the selvedge at foot causing the multiple to have several off centre stamps that were unacceptable to P.O. inspectors, positions 43-48 and 55-59 are original stamps, the others having been substituted in from another sheet by the printer and, in essence, "pieced" together with small gummed strips, some slight gum toning and with the understandable small faults, nevertheless quite remarkable for its crudity and issuance to the general public rather than being perforated "OS" for Departmental use, as was often the case with poorly centred stamps.
