Ltd., bearer warrant for 5 shares of £1, London 189[5], B1054, overprinted 'Welsbach Light Company of Australasia Ltd., Formerly', ornate border, green, text in English and French, printed by Waterlow & Sons, with coupons. Founded by Carl Auer von Welsbach, a German chemist, who had invented the gas mantle and metal filaments for light bulbs. Companies had been set up in several countries and those in British or Colonial territories were declared an enemy in 1914 at the outbreak of WWI. VF and rare.
