(x) Mercia, Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, 1.418g, h, large portrait type (c.800-821), East Anglian mint (Ipswich?), Wodel, + coenvvlf - rex m, lozenge shaped o, diademed and draped bust right, the bust, between large letters f and r, represented by five pellets, breaking beaded inner circle, rev. po / d / e / l+. lozenge shaped o, in angles of long cross-crosslet with lozenge at centre containing five pellets (cf. Naismith E13.3 this coin not listed, as E13.3i but from different dies; N.370; S.920), a handsome coin, almost extremely fine, very rare
