(x) Mercia, Offa (757-796), Penny, 1.29g, 6h, light coinage (c.79-792/3), London, Ealhmund, offa downward in field to right, and rex downward in field to left of diademed and draped bust right, the drapery with beaded decoration around square panels, all within a solid circle inside the beaded border, rev. +e / al / mu / nd, on lobes of a large saltire lobed cross with fleurs in angles (Barclay, Numismatic Chronicle, pp. 229-230, and plate 48, no. 11 this coin; Chick 44a this coin; N.308.1; S.905), good very fine, extremely rare, the only example of this very distinctive type listed by Chick
