1860 (3 July) double rate envelope from Halifax to Charlotte Town, bearing 1851-60 3d. blue pair with large margins on the short sides and clear or cut-into on the long sides, short split between, cancelled and tied by two grid cancellations and showing, on reverse (part flap excised), despatch and arrival (6.7) datestamps; stain in corner of one stamp, otherwise sound. Rare with only three covers paying the double rate to Prince Edward Island recorded, only one showing this franking. Photo
