1851-60 Issue
1d. red-brown, 3d. bright blue and 6d. deep green, all cancelled by "h" in oval of bars and tied on 1860 (Mar.) envelope from Halifax "per Cunard" to France, showing manuscript "7", "pd" in circle, London paid datestamp (20.3) and Calais entry datestamp, additionally tying the 3d. and 6d., Halifax and Paris datestamps on reverse; the 1d. and 3d. both cut-into on one or two sides respectively and the 6d. with a corner fault, nevertheless a very rare example of the 10d. rate to France. Argenti records two such frankings with this being the third now known to exist. Photo
