1949 (1 Oct.) opened-out, stampless air mail envelope to Tihwa bearing a fine strike of boxed military post handstamp in red and, on the reverse, Hsuanhua despatch c.d.s., Changyuan (2.10) transit and Tihwa arrival (15.11); a little roughly opened at side. Believed to be the earliest mail sent into Liberated Sinkiang, arriving after the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Photo
