1943 (22 July) large envelope registered to Lanchow bearing, on the reverse, 1942 air with red overprint, with $1 Peking print (19) tied by Tihwa (Urumtsi) c.d.s. with another strike in purple alongside for censorship and a fragment of the registration slip; the address side marked "80g/$19.00" and with Lanchow arrival c.d.s. (30.7); some creasing and wrinkling, a heavyweight cover from the Sinkiang District Head Post Office. Apparently pays the old rate for postage of $2 and registration $1 plus the new air mail rate of eight times $2. A very good cover. Photo
