A good example of this ill-fated flight; the plane crashed shortly after take off from Lanchow on 18th August and the mail was recovered. A second plane was organised, leaving Lanchow on 26th August but had to make an emergency landing and was damaged. The mail was eventually sent to it's destination by land two months later. A rare example of this round flight. Starr 61. Photo
Note: the fouth trial flight left Lanchow on 21st November (no mail recorded), arriving in Tihwa on the 25th. It was this plane which made the reverse flight, the fifth trial flight
