3c. primitive stamp in orange and violet used on piece and tied by part strikes of Jinghe (Manass) Agency Post Office cancellation (without date) and Chuguchak Russian Post Office transit handstamp (29.5). A rare example of this striking provisional stamp. Only this examples and a cover bearing eight examples (two subsequently removed, see below) have been recorded

The motif is a shining sun surrounded by the wording, "Republic of China provisonal stamp". This was produced after the peace agreement between the fighting forces; other stamps were not available. This stamp was in use for about two months before official supplies arrived
