"The Watch on the Rhine", Medal, 1920, cast in bronze, by K. Goetz, helmeted bust of Colonial French soldier right, rev. nude female tied to the base of helmeted phallus, 58mm. (Kienast 262), extremely fine

The blatant racial undertones envoked on this medal was done in protest at the installation of French colonial troops as an occupation force along the Rhineland in the aftermath of First World War and the supposed sexual atrocities subsequently reported.
