James II (1685-88), Half-Guinea, 1688, laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, sceptres in angles (Schneider -; MCE 135; S.3404), a small and unobtrusive file mark along reverse edge, otherwise lustrous original surfaces with a bold portrait, good very fine

The cataloguer notes the use of an aging obverse die, with a notable flaw giving the semblance of the King's name as iacorvs.
