A hand-written document reminding the recipient as to General Order No. 294 of 1867, in particular references 58 and 80, authorising a subsistence allowance and rations to the widows and orphans of trained Army Schoolmasters in India; funeral allowances may be also credited to the estates of Schoolmasters; a letter from the Military Education Branch of the War Office to the Officer Commanding Royal Artillery, Rawal Pindee, regarding the authority to increase the rate of pay of Schoolmaster G. Pratt, Royal Artillery, and requesting the signature of the latter, dated 23 March 1871, generally in good condition
