James Anderton served with the Liverpool Regiment in the Asiatic Theatre from April 1915, during operations against the Mohmands, Bunerwals and Swatis. The engagement near Hafiz Kor resulted in the award of the Victoria Cross to Corproal C. Hull, 21st Lancers for his gallantry in saving the life of an officer on 5 September 1915; sold with copied research and MIC.
