6d black & deep mauve Admiral, Die II, Plate 4, State 2, perf 14, used with lovely centrally-struck "Bwanamkubwa" c.d.s., showing the "Snowstorms" variety, very fine; Memoir 29 notes "while mint copies of this printing are readily found, used copies that can be plated are non-existent, or close to it." While entered as Plate 4, Die II, this example is a proving piece for the Plate 4, Die I, "mauve." Published in RSC Journal 277, March 2020.
