France substantial mint and used collection in four Lighthouse hingeless album, spanning 1849-1999, assembled by a collector with a keen eye for quality, beginning with the first issues and continuing to 1999, the collection is essentially complete for the provided spaces, missing only a few examples to fill the albums, a review reveals the following highlights; #1 four margins, unused, #2 four margins, used, #3 four margins, unused, with Von der Weid certificate, #37 used, #42 full margins, Type A, part o.g. with Sismondo certificate, #44b, scarce Ultramarine shade, used but with small thins, with PF certificate, #48 sound o.g. with four full margins, with Sismondo certificate, #226 n.h., #241 Strasbourg Exhibition used with exhibition cancels, #246 n.h. with pane divider tab, with Sismondo certificate, #329 PEXIP souvenir sheet n.h., #B3-10 War Orphans mint, #C3 airmail surcharge o.g. with Hunziker AIEP certificate, C8-14 fresh hinged, C14 with Sismondo certificate, etc.; also included are a selection of French colonies issues, as well as WWII French Legion and German Occupation issues, Sage and Peace & Commerce gutter pairs, and more; typical mixed condition as expected among the nineteenth century issues, though better than usually seen, with twentieth century issues being almost entirely mint, with a spot-check revealing never hinged examples within the appropriate period; a lovely collection deserving of careful review; accompanied by 21 certificates.
