1895 (4 Aug.) envelope (flap missing) registered in the hand of T.E.C. Remington from Mombasa to naval person on H.M.S. Devastation in Devonport, bearing ½a. deep brown, 1a. blue-green pair and 2a. vermilion cancelled with squared-circle datestamps, London Registered oval datestamp in red below and arrival registered oval datestamp (26.8) on reverse. A fine and rare non-philatelic registered franking, one of only two such covers recorded. Photo
