1881 (12 May) envelope from Kimberley "Per First Steamer" to Paris, bearing 1878 Type 15 ½d, 1879 Type 17 4d. and Cape 1880 Type 11 "3" on 3d. pale dull rose showing defective typeface (constant on [56] of the overprint setting) twice cancelled with double-arc datestamps, showing "2½d" accountancy handstamp in red and with Calais-Paris T.P.O. datestamp at left, Cape Town and London (9.6) datestamps on reverse; part of address deleted though not unattractive and an unusual mixed-colony franking carried on the Garth Castle from Cape Town on 17 May.
