1867 (26 Oct.) envelope (270x105mm.) from Melbourne to London, marked "Via Marseilles, pr Royal Mail Steamer Avoca", bearing Woodblock 2/- vertical strip of three with Laureated 2d., 4d. and 6d. (2), all indistinctly cancelled, showing Melbourne c.d.s. plus oval-framed "registered" and arrival Registered d.s. in red; the adhesives all with faults/defects including staining, nevertheless a remarkable franking for a letter between 4 and 4½ ounces.
