1849 (3 May) entire from Warnambool to Portland, marked "Registered", rated "P 11" in red, showing scarce framed "missent to/port fairy" (crossed by vertical filing crease) and, on reverse, "port fairy/n.s.w." oval datestamp. Photo

Note: Postage was based on distance and for the 65 miles concerned it should have been 8d. so 3d. overpaid. Although "Warnambool" is endorsed on the reverse it is possible the letter was carried to Melbourne and posted there, in which case 11d would be the correct rate.
