The Worthing Stage Coach
1814 (29 July) a summons to Samuel Goodman, "Driver of the Worthing Stage Coach" for carrying too many people on the outside of his coach. The summons from Public Office, Union Hall, Southwark, reads, "... in the Parish of Saint Mary Lewington in the said County of Surrey Unlawfully allow more than twelve outside passengers to be carried at the same time ... Eleven Outside passengers being grown Persons and Eight Children Under Seven Years of age being equal to four grown Persons"
