1317 (11 December) indented deed on vellum, in Latin (with transcription) between John de Lyle, junior to John Aleyn of Appleton for life, one acre called Turnoresaker, lying in the field of Gatton, for 1 quarter of oats and a scoop of barley, payable on 2 November annually. With parchment tongue but the seal has been lost; a few age marks but is clear and a fine example. Photo

John de Lyle (Isle), the family held property in Grafton Regis, Northamptonshire which was subject to various petitions to the King around 1328-30
