USA: Bank of the United States of America, certificate for [40] shares, issued to Baring Brothers in London, 18[31], #36702, signed by Nicholas Biddle as President, Liberty with US shield and eagle, sailing ship behind, ornate border, black. A little discolouration in the centre but GVF and scarce. This a particularly good piece showing the connection between the Bank, Barings and Biddle.
