1888 (21 Aug.) Bechuanaland Protectorate 1d. lilac and black cancelled with a near complete upright strike of the "gubulawayo/bechuanaland" datestamp for 21 August, the sole date upon which this datestamp was used. A very fine example of this very rare postmark after which the territorial designation was chipped away. Only about dozen examples are recorded. Photo
