1888 ½d. vermilion cancelled by favour with "tati/ bechuanaland" c.d.s. dated 21/8/88, a rare cancellation withdrawn shortly after issue, this being one of only 12 recorded examples. Tati district was disputed territory so 'Bechuanaland' was quickly removed from the cancellation; the lot includes a 6d. on 6d. lilac cancelled with the same c.d.s. in this revised format.
