1865 (18 May) quadruple rate envelope (222x101mm.) from Dunedin to Edinburgh, marked "Via Marseilles", bearing 1864 wmk. "nz", imperf 1/- green strip of three with good to large margins all round, in combination with 1864-67 perf 12½ 2d. pale blue (Plate I, worn) horizontal pair (one defective), cancelled with several strikes of the "otago" duplex and showing, on reverse, clear arrival datestamp (17.7); the envelope with three vertical creases well clear of the adhesives.
