National Bank of Egypt, obverse (2) archival photographs showing designs for £1, 3 January 1926, black and white, portrait of the Fellah at right, value at centre and corners
(Pick 20 for similar), The first of these is a superb photograph of a hand painted design for the 1926 £1, featuring a portrait of the figure known as the Fellah. You can still see the brush strokes on his face and in certain other elements of the design. The other is almost the final production design, but there are differences in the border and exact text positioning. Evidently someone made some last minute changes (2)
