Italy, Vatican, Alexander VII (1655-67), bronze medal by Gaspare Morone, anno VII, bust left wearing tiara and piviale, rev. the church of St Ivo at Rome University ('la Spaienza'), date mdclx below, 40.5mm., an unusual combination of the reverse of the medaglia annuale of 1660, with the later portrait, introduced the next year (anno VII), and used from then until the end of Alexander's reign, very fine
