Commonwealth (1649-60), Halfcrown, 1655, m.m. sun, 14.44g, shield of England within palm and laurel wreath, rev. conjoined shields of England and Ireland, mark of value above (ESC 48 {436} [R5], this coin; N.2722; S.3215), scratch across obverse shield, otherwise fine or better, and of the highest rarity with the only two other recorded specimens in the British Museum
