India (c. 20th century), gold Temple Token, 14.67g, humped bull seated right, Devanagari legend, gopala krishna / shankara harah / bharata gochara (the cowherd Krishna / the vehicle of Siva / living in India), rev. goddesses of good fortune (Ridhi) and prosperity (Labha), standing on lotuses, extremely fine

Religious Tokens similar to this example, and those found in the next 12 lots, are ascribed by Mitchiner to a Calcutta workshop that operated between 1792 and the mid 20th century.
