Herbert Greuber comments on this small series of medals: 'These badges were intended to be worn as medals or ornaments. They were made at the time of the Restoration. Judging from the portrait and its style, they may have been executed by Thomas Simon. The reverses are either plain or decorated by engraving with the royal arms.'
