Somaliland, French Colonial, Order of Nichan El-Anouar, with rosette and gold flashes to riband, 28mm including crown suspension x 15mm, gold, silver and enamel, enhanced with 27 diamonds of varying size and cut, 2 rubies and 1 emerald, nearly extremely fine and of the finest quality

The Order was founded in 1887 by the Sultan of Tadjourah. It was absorbed into the French Colonial Honours system in May 1898 upon the same five-class system as the Legion of Honour.
