The original recomendation states:

'On 21 July 44 B Sqn PAG (V), attacked the Karin Line in support of 1 RNC. The leading tank was immobilised on a mine and Lieut Cooper's troop was ordered to take the lead. The enemy were 300 to 400 yds ahead and it was not possible to get off the road. Lieut Coooper, knowing that he may be under observation from two MG posts and one Bazooka post, left his tk to clear the mines. He went up the road prodding with his bayonet and having cleared the area his troop was able to proceed. He returned to his tank, destroyed all three posts and the infantry were able to advance and take their objective.'
